A Home Worth Appreciating
67Have you ever really looked around your house and focused on what you have?
I spent approxamately thirty minutes the other day taking pictures of inside my childhood home, and a few exterior shots. It's was an amazing experience looking at random things I had not seen in a while or was not aware of.
Each photograph represents my appreciation for what I had growing up there and moving back in again after years of living on my own.
What's Inside This Empty Bottle?
*
When I am not at work, spending time with my boyfriend, or talking to my friends...
My time is largely spent in three rooms of the house; The computer room, my bedroom, and the family room.
My decision to poke around the house and really see what's outside of my comfort zone was remarkable!
I never noticed my Mom had this lime green colored, decorative bottle tucked away. I took numerous pictures of the outside of the bottle in every form of light. However, I was not fascinated with the subject
...well...not until I looked inside.
It was beautiful!
It had different textures!
It had several dimensions!
I was surprised I got such a shot of inside this lime green bottle.
I was definately happy with the outcome!
The Fads We Had To Have
*
I appreciate that my parents did their very best in purchasing the fads or what was "In" during my childhood. I remember them going everywhere to get me my cabbage patch kid...lol!
They also got me the "must have" Rubick's Cube. I found it the other day as I peaked in my old bedroom closet. I did not realize it was saved! I never could solve it the way one was supposed to though. I used to peel the stickers off and put them back on by color, pretending I solved the puzzle...sneaky.
Not your Typical House Plant
*
I wandered into the living room (an area primarily used when we have company over) and saw a vase filled with peacock feathers. They are not a typical house plant but were a gorgeous compliment to the decor of the room!.
I had to get out my new Canon Camera my sister bought me to take as many shots that I could!
I loved how the feathers flared and bursted with color!
The "eyes" had beautiful hughs of turquois and navy blue, surrounded by neutral tones, and Bright green lashes!
Reminders of me swimming in the Carribean Ocean (Nassau, Bahamas) as a kid brought back fond memories of my youth after I took the bottom picture. The peacock feather looks like a fish I had seen there.
Why do We Save Old Computer Parts Anyway?
*
Why do we??
I found three keyboards, thousands of USB chords, plugs, scanner parts, empty ink cartages...etc.
I have appreciation for My Computer Keyboard because I broke so many in my lifetime. My Dad spent hours fixing my computers; an expensive item thing I took for granted.

Opinions And Answers
*
These are my footprints frozen on the driveway in the morning.
I was wearing my winter boots
My feet looked like they were dragging
Maybe I was tired
I had worked hard, late at the grocery store the night before.
I was anxious working the night shift
I do appreciate the 20 years I have been employed there, though turbulant at times.

I come from a great family who's members always have opinions and answers for everything!
However, their opinions and answers come from wisdom.
I appreciate what they all have to say, and make a point to listen without judgement.
Unconditional Love
The heart in the soil represents UNCONDITIONAL love...
From my parents
From my sister
From my boyfriend
They are always there for me...no matter what!!
I love them and appreciate them back!

A very interesting walk through your house. I too, have a bouquet of peacock feathers, I find them fascinating and beautiful and I loved your description! Thanks for sharing!!
Very nice indeed. I have saved a modem that I had way back in the early 90's. I can't use it anymore but for some reason I still have it--a 9600 Modem.
I love the unique photo of inside the lime green bottle! What a wonderful reminder that interesting things are always around - it is up to us to find them. Thanks for this inspirational hub.
